Restoration Mentality

Mar 10

Restoration Mentality

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten..." Joel 2:25, ESV

TODAY'S WORD:

We serve a God of restoration! You may have had some disappointments or unfair things happen in your life; but instead of dwelling on the past and living in defeat, choose to focus on His promises because God wants to restore everything that's been stolen from your life. He wants to restore your joy, your peace, your health and your finances.

But here's the key: you have to have a vision for it. You have to get your hopes up and decide to get your thoughts and words going in the right direction.

Today, choose to focus on the future and release past hurts through forgiveness. Draw a line in the sand and say, "I am a child of the Most High God, and I'm not going to live my life negative and defeated. This is a new day, and I'm taking back what belongs to me!" That's having a restoration mentality!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Father, thank You for choosing to restore my life. Thank You for the truth of Your Word that sets me free. Fill me with Your power today so that I may stand strong and move forward on the path You have for me in Jesus' name. Amen."

Truth is truth and it is not our decision!

Mar 09

Truth is truth and it is not our decision!

God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. - (John 4:24)

To believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, we must worship God in Spirit, allowing Him to "educate" us to His truth. Unlike today's philosophy, truth is not flexible, truth is not something that changes with the situation. Truth is not what supports a person's viewpoint. TRUTH IS TRUTH!

Truth does not change or waiver depending on the situation.
We must be willing to accept the truth no matter how it changes our beliefs. Cigarettes cause cancer. That is a physical truth. For those who smoke, they may not want to accept that truth, but it is truth, none-the-less. They will eventually have to face that truth. Those who truly wish to worship God will worship Him and all of His truths.

Do we pick and choose what truths to believe or do we accept God’s truth in its entirety?

Make Way for Victory

Mar 08

Make Way for Victory

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory [making us conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians 15:57, AMP

TODAY'S WORD:

God desires for you to live in victory in every area of your life. The scripture says He always causes us to triumph through Christ Jesus! No matter what you may be facing today, God wants to make you more than a conqueror. Are you battling sickness? God wants to give you healing. Are you struggling with a broken relationship? God wants to give you restoration and peace. Are you facing a need—physically, spiritually or emotionally? God wants to give you provision and supply all of your needs according to His riches in glory.

Notice this verse starts out by saying, "Thanks be to God." In the Bible, when God's people were going into battle, many times they sent the worshipers out in front of the warriors. When you choose to be thankful and bless the Lord in the midst of your battle, you are making a way for Him to move in your life. Start today by thanking Him for His goodness. Magnify your God; don't magnify your problems. Give Him thanks and make the way for victory!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Father, today I give You thanks for Your mercy and faithfulness to me. Thank You for always leading me into victory! I magnify You and bless Your holy name in Jesus' name! Amen."

Open the Door to Abundance

Mar 07
Open the Door to Abundance

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap..."Luke 6:38, NIV

TODAY'S WORD:

God is a God of abundance!
He wants to pour out His blessing on you until you are so full that you are running over with His goodness. Notice how this verse starts. It says, "Give, and it will be given to you." Your giving is what sets the blessing of God into motion in your life.
Your giving is a spiritual seed. In the natural, when you plant an apple seed, it doesn't just grow a single fruit. That one seed grows into a tree that has an abundance of apples. The same thing happens when you obey God in your giving. You get an abundant harvest in return. You are so blessed that you can't even contain it! You just have to keep giving, and the cycle just keeps repeating itself.
Is there something the Lord is telling you to give today? What do you have in your hand that you can use to be a blessing to someone else? Take a step of faith and set the blessing of God into motion. Open the door to His blessing all the days of your life!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Father, I receive Your Word into my heart today. Thank You for choosing to bless me so that I can be a blessing to others. Show me where to plant my seed so that I can receive the harvest You have for me in Jesus' name. Amen."

They Missed Him

They Missed Him

They were looking for a Lion,
He came as a Lamb,
     and they missed Him.
They were looking for a Warrior,
He came as a Peacemaker,
     and they missed Him.
They were looking for a King,
He came as a Servant,
     and they missed Him.
They were looking for Liberation from Rome,
He submitted to the Roman cross,
     and they missed Him.
They were looking for a fit to their mold,
He was the mold maker,
     and they missed Him.

What are you looking for?
    Lion?
    Warrior?
    King?
    Liberator?

They were looking for their temporal needs to be met,
He came to meet their eternal need,
     and they missed Him.
He came as a Lamb to be sacrificed for your sin.
     Will you miss Him?
He came to make peace between God and man.
     Will you miss Him?
He came to model servanthood for all mankind.
     Will you miss Him?
He came that we might have true Liberty.
     Will you miss Him?
He came to give you eternal life.
     Will you miss Him?
When we submit to the Lamb,
    we will meet the Lion.
When we join with the Peacemaker
    we will meet the Warrior.
When we work with the Servant
    we will meet the King.
When we walk with the Submitted
    we will meet the Liberator.
When we concern ourselves with the eternal
    we will have the temporal.

Lets not miss Jesus.

CONSULTANT ON CALL

Mar 06

CONSULTANT ON CALL

John 13:17.  Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

They called him the miracle worker. It was a miracle if he ever worked at all.
But he went to church and was so moved by the message that he went forward during the invitation and professed to be converted. His family and friends were delighted when he prayed: “Dear Lord, save me and use me to Your glory.” Unfortunately, he added: “By the way, Lord, I’ll be available whenever You need me to give you or others need guidance or directions.”
God does not need our advice, He needs our attention. He does not need our suggestions, He needs our service. He does not need our words, He needs our wills. He does not need our heads, He needs our hearts.
More than anything, He wants our love–for if we truly love Him, we will labor for Him and live for Him. He also wants us to worship Him, and if we do, we will gladly and willingly work for Him. It is only when we make a definite decision to follow Him that we will make a daily difference in His world.
Jesus said, “Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.”

Prayer: Help me, Father, to know Your will by studying Your Word that I may do Your work. Help me to live for You: through Christ. Amen.

Take Your Life Back

Take Your Life Back

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"...take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."
2 Corinthians 10:5, NIV

TODAY'S WORD:

Do you ever feel like things in your life are out of control? Usually that happens when we allow our circumstances to dictate our thoughts and attitudes. You might say, "Well, the economy is wreaking havoc on my business." Or, "This relationship is just too far gone." Today is the day to take your life back! We live in this natural realm, but as believers, we are not limited by this natural realm. We can tap into God's supernatural power, but it starts by making every thought line up with the Word of God.

Today, take your life back by taking your thoughts back. Don't allow the enemy to have access any longer. Instead, meditate on the Word of God daily and allow His truth to sink down deep into your spirit. Let His truth set you free!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Father, thank You for empowering me to live in victory. I choose to take my life back by taking captive every thought and submitting it to You. Help me to live a life that is pleasing to You today and every day in Jesus' name. Amen."

What Pleases God

What Pleases God

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." - Hebrews 11:6

TODAY'S WORD:

Do you know what pleases God? He's not impressed by how much knowledge we have. He isn't influenced by how many possessions we own. He's not moved by our accomplishments; He is moved simply by our faith in Him.

Faith is a gift. It's not something that has to be contrived or worked up. The scripture tells us that everyone has been given a measure of faith. It also says that faith grows as we hear the Word of God. That's why it's so important to stay connected to a Bible-based church where the Word of God is being taught. It's why we need to make time every day to read and study His Word because that's how you feed your faith. The more you know His Word, the more you understand that God is good, and He rewards the people who seek after Him.

Today, take time to feed your faith. Meditate on His Word and ask Him to illuminate your heart with His truth. Trust that He is good and has good things in store for your future because faith is what pleases God!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Father, thank You for giving me the gift of faith so that I can be pleasing to You. As I seek You and study Your Word, illuminate my heart with Your truth. Transform me into Your image and let everything I do bring glory to You in Jesus' name. Amen."

Before Creation

Before Creation

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight." - Ephesians 1:4,

TODAY'S WORD:

Did you know that God had a plan for you before the foundations of the earth? He created you to be holy and blameless in His sight. Why? He chose you to be His ambassador, His representative in the earth. He created you to reflect His glory, character, righteousness, and holiness. Think about that for a moment. Part of your purpose on this earth is to be a representative for the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords! That should make you walk a little differently. It should make you talk a little differently. It should make you think a little more carefully about the places you go and the things you do.

Remember, God will equip you to do whatever He's called you to do. If there are things in your life that you need to change in order to represent Him well, God wants to empower you to overcome. Receive His strength and might today so that you can walk in holiness and be His ambassador everywhere you go!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Father, thank you for choosing me to be your representative in the earth. Search my heart and remove anything that is displeasing to you. I receive your holiness and will walk according to Your ways. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

Be Generous

Be Generous

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed."  - Proverbs 11:25,

TODAY'S WORD:

Do you need refreshing today? So many people go around overwhelmed, tired, worn down, barely getting by. But that's not God's best. He wants us to prosper. He wants us to be refreshed. Here's the key: be generous and refresh others. Is there someone at the office you can be a blessing to? Can you lighten someone's load? Maybe a family member is going through a hard time. Can you help them out? Can you cook them a meal? Refreshing someone can be as simple as a smile or an encouraging word. Don't wait until you feel like doing it, that day may never come! Do it because the Scripture tells us to. Do it because it blesses the Lord.

Today, look for someone to be a blessing to. Step out and refresh others; live a life of generosity. As you do, you will be refreshed in return, and experience His blessing in every area of your life!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Father, thank You for Your grace and mercy in my life. Thank You for blessing me so that I can be a blessing to others. Teach me to be generous. Show me how I can refresh others and bring glory to You. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

Sow Righteousness

Sow Righteousness

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"...he who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward."  -  Proverbs 11:18,

TODAY'S WORD:

God's kingdom operates on a system of sowing and reaping. Have you heard the saying, "What goes around, comes around?" That's really a spiritual principle. What you sow, you will reap. Today's verse tells us that when we sow righteousness, we'll reap a sure reward.

What does that mean? Sowing righteousness simply means doing the right thing in the sight of God. It's obeying the Word no matter what the circumstances may look like. It means showing kindness even when it's undeserved. It's walking in love and keeping the peace when you really want to say something different. When you sow righteousness, you'll reap a sure reward.
That's because God Himself is going to pay you back. He is the One who will multiply you when you honor Him.

Today, keep doing the right thing even if the wrong thing is happening. Sow righteousness. Stay in faith. Keep believing because He who promised is faithful, and there's a sure reward in store for you!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Father, thank You for setting up a system that blesses me as I bless others. Show me how to sow righteousness today so I can honor You in all I do in Jesus' name. Amen."

Whatever He Says

Whatever He Says

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"...Whatever He says to you, do it." - John 2:5, NKJV

TODAY'S WORD:

When Jesus performed His first miracle, He was at a wedding celebration. His mother knew that in order to see His power at work, there was one key: "Whatever He says, do it." It's the same way with us today. Our obedience opens the door to see His power manifest in our lives. Scripture says, "If we are willing and obedient, we will eat the good of the land." In other words, we'll experience God's abundant blessing when we follow His commands.

Sometimes, we can be so focused on one thing we are believing for that we overlook simple obedience in other areas. For example, you may need a financial miracle. Maybe you're tithing and sowing like you should, but are you holding unforgiveness toward someone? That can block the blessing. Is there anything else you know in your heart you need to do?

Today, ask the Lord to search your mind and heart. Don't let anything block His power. Whatever He says, do it and watch that obedience open the door to His blessing in every area of your life!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Father, I humbly come to You submitting every area of my life to You. I want to be obedient to You. I choose to honor You. Show me any areas of my life where I need to make changes. I bless You today and always in Jesus' name. Amen."

Do we have a daily time to spend with God?

Do we have a daily time to spend with God?

"Be still, and know that I am God;  -  (Psalms 46:10a (NIV))

As I sit here exhausted, I realize just how easy it is to become so engrossed in the things of the world that we call our lives. It is so easy to let God slip to a second, third or even a fourth priority. The sad part about this when it happens is that we don’t realize that it is happening until it has already happened.

We need to establish something that becomes a constant in our lives. Something that we do on a daily basis that forces us to be still in the presence of God. This must be something that we do no matter whether we want to or not, no matter whether we feel that we can take a day off because no one will notice.

God’s Word is alive!

God shares His heart through His Word.

The trick is to be open and to not take things out of context. You must dive deep and explore the mysteries that God has in store for you. The Bible is called the Living Word for a reason. No matter where you are in your walk with God, there is something for you to learn. What I find so intriguing is that you can learn something from one passage and as you mature, you can learn something different from the same passage. This knowledge does not replace what you have learned before. It expands, it builds upon the previous knowledge to give you a deeper understanding.

It is my prayer that we develop a routine in which we set aside time each day to spend in God’s presence.

One Another

One Another

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."
Ephesians 4:32, NIV

TODAY'S WORD:

In this day and age, it's easy to become distracted, almost consumed with all the obligations we have on a daily basis. Cell phones, computers, the internet have all made it so much easier to pack more into our days. And while technology is a great blessing to us, we have to remember that how much we get done isn't as important as how we treat others. We should never be so focused on plowing through our "to do" list that we mistakenly plow past the people in our lives.

This verse in Ephesians simply reminds us to be kind, compassionate and forgiving. If people had to be reminded back in those times, how much more do we need to be reminded today! We should always be on the lookout for ways we can be kind to one another. Can you share a smile with someone or an encouraging word? Can you help meet a need?

Remember, as a believer, you are the hands and feet of Jesus. Look for ways to serve one another. Sow a seed of kindness and watch the harvest of blessing in your own life in return!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Father, thank You for another day to live for You. Help me find creative ways to show kindness to the people You've put in my life. Show me ways I can sow seeds and be a blessing to others. Thank You for equipping me to be Your representative and live in victory in every area of my life in Jesus' name. Amen."

His Thoughts toward You

His Thoughts toward You

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"How precious are Your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can't even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand!"-  Psalm 139:17-18, NLT

TODAY'S WORD:

Did you know God is thinking about you right now? He thinks about you constantly. You are always on His mind. Do you know what He's thinking? He's not thinking about all that you've done wrong in your life. No, He's thinking about the good things He has in store for your future. Jeremiah 29:11 tells us that His thoughts are for our good. His plans are to prosper us and to give us a future and a hope.

Do you know what else He's thinking? He's thinking about how much He loves you. He's not mad at you; He's madly in love with you! Let that love bring security to your heart and mind. The Bible says that perfect love casts out all fear.

Just take a deep breath right now and breathe in His love and peace. When you receive His love, it drives out fear and gives you confidence to embrace the good things He has in store for your future!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Father, thank You for thinking of me today. Thank You for the good work you are doing in my life. I receive Your love which drives out all fear. Make me new as I meditate on You. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

Choose This Day

Choose This Day

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"...choose for yourselves this day whom will you serve..."
Joshua 24:15, NIV

TODAY'S WORD:

Everyday, we make thousands of choices. Some choices have more impact on our lives than others. Some require more thought. Some may even require the input of others. Making Jesus the Lord of your life is the best choice you could ever make! However, once you do, you have the opportunity each day to make choices that support that choice. For example, are you choosing to serve the Lord with your attitude? Are you choosing to serve Him with your finances? Are you choosing to serve the Lord by what you say? What you watch on TV? What you listen to?

Today, take time to examine your thoughts and actions. Choose this day to honor Him in everything you do. As you submit your ways to Him, He promises to direct your steps and lead you in the abundant life here on earth and in eternity!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Father, today I choose You. Search my heart and mind and show me anything in my life that is displeasing to You. Help me to serve You with my whole heart, mind, will and emotions in Jesus' name. Amen."
